Maintain clean mailing lists checking the validity of recipient's e-mails addresses...
If your database contains incorrect e-mail addresses, this disadvantages you in two ways.╩ First, you have to put up with annoying 'undeliverable' messages.╩And second, you lose the ability to communicate by e-mail with your contacts.╩Email Verifier checks the validity of your e-mail addresses without actually sending e-mails. You can use the list of failed addresses to build a list for a 'please update' campaign.
Let us show you how!

1.- Overview
Email Verifier is a very effective piece of software that can verify over 10 e-mails per second . It can verify single e-mails or huge lists. (eMail Verifier is multithreaded, providing high speed verifying). It is your powerful solution for the standard "message delivery error." Email Verifier verifies every e-mail address from a given mailing list, allows to determine 80-90% of "dead" e-mail addresses.
eMail Verifier works on the same algorithm as ISP mail systems do. Addresses for e-mail are extracted from a Domain Naming Server (DNS) and eMail Verifier tries to connect with SMTP-servers and simulates the sending of a message. It does not send the message though - eMail Verifier disconnects as soon as the mail server informs the program whether the address exists or not.
eMail Verifier can save time and money for businesses who send newsletters to their clients, nonprofit organizations who send bulletins to their members, or any person or business that needs to maintain a clean e-mail contact list.
2.- Getting Started
Launch eMail Verifier:
- a verifier window is created by default.
(You can open as many windows as needed)
Select e-mail(s) to verify:
- If you need to verify a single e-mail address, just type it as is (ex. name@domain.xxx).
- If you would rather verify several e-mails from a file, select 'E-Mail list file' radio button.
A Finder file selector will let you choose the file to get the e-mails from.
eMail Verifier then loads selected file adding all entries to the list.
Hit the return key or push the 'Verify' button.
- eMail Verifier first try to get the Mail Exchanger for given e-mail addresses.
- Once a Mail Exchanger is found, eMail Verifier connects to it and simulates a delivery and/or optionally issues a 'VRFY' command.
Once the verify process is done you can save all e-mails found good to a file.
- If no Mail Exchanger is found, the e-mail address is mark as 'Bad'
- Delivery simulation and 'VRFY' command (if selected) finally marks e-mails as 'Good', 'Looks good', 'Looks bad' and 'Bad' (depending on the result)
Interpreting results:
- Good: E-mail has passed all tests successfully and has been verified as valid.
- Looks good: E-mail has passed all tests but the Mail Exchanger response is indefinite.
- Looks bad: The Mail Exchanger response indicates e-mail is bad, disabled or hidden.
- Bad: No Mail Exchanger has been found for given e-mail.
Note: Mail Exchangers are SMTP servers assigned to given e-mail addresses in order to route mails to their recipient. A domain name can have multiple mail routes, each assigned a priority number. The mail route with the lowest number identifies the server responsible for the domain. Other mail servers listed will be used as backups.
You can look at eMail Verifier connection log pushing the right edge disclosure triangle.
Read 'Getting Started' document for more information.
3.- How to register...
eMail Verifier is distributed as shareware. If you want to get rid of this annoying registration dialog at launch and want to be able to verify more than 15 e-mails, you can register for only $24.90 US using whichever of the following online processing services located at: (Secure Verisign connection server).

4.- Features
- Batch verify big amounts of e-mail addresses.
- Check e-mail addresses for a valid Mail Exchanger.
- Check each e-mail address validity with its MX server.
- Sort all e-mail addresses by domain to speed all tests.
- Fast multi-threaded engine. (Speed depends on your connection / Internet traffic)
- Native version for both Mac OS Classic and Mac OS X.
Note: eMail Verifier verifies every e-mail address from a specified mailing list, allowing you to determine up to 80% of "dead" mail addresses. For some addresses, such as AOL, Yahoo, and other non-SMTP mail, you can't verify whether╩ the address is good or not. You won't know definitively until some bounce. The mail server won't cooperate. In fact, a few ISP's mail servers are configured in a way they prevent anybody to find out if an e-mail address is good or not sometimes to protect their customer e-mail addresses from harvester tools. Consider eMail Verifier as a tool for tracking bad e-mail addresses instead of validating good ones.
5.- System requirements
Hardware:
- Mac OS 8.6 or Higher / Mac OS X
- PowerPC Computer
- 20 MB of RAM
- 800x600 resolution, thousands of colors
- 10 MB of hard drive space
Internet Connection:
You need to have access to port 25 for eMail Verifier to work. If you're operating within a restrictive firewall, as most users of large ISPs are, then you won't be able to use this tool. You need either unrestricted access or a hole in your corporate firewall for port 25 access. This software does what your SMTP e-mail server does, which is confirm that the person exists before sending the message. Smaller local ISPs don't use to block port 25.
